How are the entrées packaged?
All of the entrées in our 1, 3, 6 and 12 month packages come in #10 cans. The entrées in
our 1/2 month vegetarian supply and backpacks come in lightweight pouches.
How can I know that the food will last for 25 years?
Studies have shown that freeze-dried food stored in cans in a cool, dry place retains its taste, and
nutrition.
Can I get all my food in pouches?
We do offer vegetarian meals in our ½ month supply and Pay As You Go Buckets in heavy Mylar
pouches, just like the sample pouches. The meals in the ½ month supply and Pay As You Go Buckets
have been dehydrated and are 100% vegetarian.
In order for the freeze dried food containing meat and dairy products to achieve a 25-year shelf life,
it must be stored in metal cans.
How long does it take for my food storage to be delivered?
Your package should ship within 72 hours of placing the order. Occasionally, we have items that are on
backorder and those items will be shipped as soon as we get them back in stock.
How are my products shipped?
The packages are shipped via UPS.
How will I be notified about my package delivery?
You will receive an automated phone call from UPS the day of delivery. We have asked UPS to get a signature
from each of our customers upon delivery.
Can I make substitutions within a package?
Yes. You can completely customize your order, but substitution fees may apply.
Can I buy the entrées individually?
We have selected the highest quality entrées and arranged each gourmet meal plan to provide our
customers with the best value. Our À La Carte items can be purchased individually.
Can I try all the food before purchasing a package?
Over the past 5 years we have made several menu changes based upon countless taste tests and customer
feedback. We have selected 18 delicious entrées to give our customers the highest quality and most
variety. All the entrées have very traditional tastes. If you like lasagna, then you will like our
lasagna. We are willing to bring our customers a sample to prove how good our food tastes.
Where should I store my Daily Bread products?
Daily Bread products should be stored in a cool, dry place.
Does Daily Bread sell powdered eggs?
No. We only sell natural, freeze-dried eggs.
Are all of the meats natural?
Unless the entrée is specified as vegetarian, all of the Daily Bread meats are natural.
Do you have vegetarian entrées and products?
Yes. We do have vegetarian entrées in our ½ month supplies.
Must I use boiling water to prepare the food?
Although many of our entrées recommend using boiling water, the suggestion is solely to enhance
flavor and is not necessary. All of our lunch and dinner entrées can be reconstituted with cold
water.
Do you offer any gluten free products?
Yes. We offer a 3 month supply of gluten free entrées for 1 adult. Also, all of the milk, meats,
vegetables and fruits listed on the
à la carte page are
gluten free.
How long does the food last once the can is opened?
Each item is different. Some items, like granola, may last several months after being opened. Most of the
cans suggest that the food be consumed within seven days, but our producers have told us that as long as
the cans are stored in a dry, cool place, all of the foods should stay good for several
weeks.
Do you have options for diabetics?
Yes. We have several items and some entrées that are appropriate for diabetics. See our ingredient
list and nutrition value sheet for details.
Does your food contain nuts?
The Granola with Honey & Almonds contains nuts. The creamed wheat, oatmeal, protein shake and pancakes
are produced on machinery that also processes nuts so there is a possibility that those items may contain
particles of nuts. The Scrambled Eggs with Bacon and all of the lunch/dinner entrées in our 1, 3,
6 and 12 month packages are produced on machinery that has been sterilized and do not contain nuts.
